Title: SMART NETS VIRTUAL COMMUNITIES AND THEIR ROLE IN TODAY’S SOCIETY

Abstract: This essay aims to explain the effects (both positive and negative) of virtual communities found today in an increasingly number on the Internet. The argument is based on exposure different points of view borrowed from the literature in which the author also join and its vision on the subject. If twenty years ago landline phone system and the fax system were the most used bidirectional communication means, today, thanks to the Internet, the speed at which information travels, from one end of society to the other, makes a shift in the decision making process, from the centre to its extremities. This article shows how to use this new attribute of information (instantaneous availability) by citizens and the environment in which they live and act.
